Disease Outbreak Reported
As of 21 November 2001, the WHO Collaborating Centres, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have reported 23 human cases of anthrax, with 18 of these being confirmed and 5 being suspected. There have now been 5 deaths associated with inhalational anthrax among the 23 cases. WHO is continuing to monitor the situation in the United States.
