Disease Outbreak Reported
 A team from the Ministry of Health and WHO are on site to
investigate the suspected cases and collect samples.  The samples will be sent to the
Centre International de Recherches Médicales de Franceville (CIRMF) in Gabon for
verification.  Ecosystèmes Forestiers d'Afrique Centrale (ECOFAC) has sent a team to
investigate the deaths of wild animals in the affected area.
 
The Ministry of Health of The Republic of the
Congo has reported 6 suspected cases including 5 deaths of acute haemorrhagic fever
syndrome in Mbomo district, Cuvette Ouest region.
  These suspected cases have occurred in the same area as the previous reports of Ebola haemorrhagic fever.
