75th session of the
WHO Regional Committee for Europe
28–30 October 2025, Copenhagen, Denmark
Health ministers and high-level delegates from the 53 Member States of the WHO European Region, as well as representatives of partner organizations and civil society, will meet in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 28–30 October 2025 for the 75th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe (RC75).
The 3-day event will begin with a political focus on day one, with addresses by the WHO Director-General and WHO Regional Director for Europe. The first day will also include discussions on the proposed second European Programme of Work, 2026–2030 (EPW2), a co-creation by Member States of the WHO European Region and WHO/Europe as a result of an extensive consultative process. Its objectives are two-fold: to provide a strategic vision and health compass to inspire countries and partners tackling pressing health issues, and to set out a 5-year plan of action for WHO/Europe to advance progress on health. EPW2 will be put forward for adoption by Member States during the session.
Day two will cover governance issues, including Member State elections and nominations to the Standing Committee of the Regional Committee and WHO Executive Board, as well as other committees. The programme budget and the WHO/Europe accountability report will also be on the agenda.
Day three will focus on discussing technical topics, with 2 draft strategies to be considered for adoption:
- A healthy start for a healthy life: a strategy for child and adolescent health and well-being in the WHO European Region 2026–2030; and
- A strategy on harnessing innovation for public health in the WHO European Region 2025–2030.
The Regional Committee will also discuss a further strategy to be developed and finalized in 2026: Ageing is living: a strategy for promoting a lifetime of health and well-being in the WHO European Region 2026–2030.
The session will be webcast in English and Russian, with updates posted on WHO/Europe’s social media channels using #RC75CPH.
A series of virtual side events will be held from early September leading up to the Regional Committee Session.
An event for non-State actors will take place on 27 October 2025, prior to RC75.
