WHO Country Office in Poland annual report 2024

Overview

In 2024, the WHO Country Office in Poland worked to deliver tangible results across key public health priorities, including the Ukraine refugee response, contributing to a stronger, more equitable and resilient health systems. The Country Office worked in close collaboration with national authorities to support upgrading of prevention, diagnostics and treatment of tuberculosis and to inform future screening, preparedness and response strategies for communicable diseases. Mental health system reform was accelerated with the development of the Intersectoral Roadmap for National Mental Health (‎2025–2028)‎ and provision of training in scalable mental health interventions for both refugees and the host population. WHO supported the development of interprofessional clinical guidelines and training for health-care providers in survivor-centred care for those affected by gender-based violence. Immunization equity was advanced through behavioural insight studies, infodemic management training, and large-scale community engagement. The Country Office also worked with Statistics Poland to introduce innovative data integration systems to guide health interventions. WHO will continue to working with national partners to enhance health equities, reaffirming our commitment to health for all and future-proof public health system in Poland.
