With a vision to support health leadership today while nurturing the health leaders of tomorrow, the CPA Division organizes the Pan-European Leadership Academy (ELA). The ELA:

• provides programmes for learning and professional development within WHO/Europe for early- and mid-career public health experts from ministries and institutes of public health as well as high-level decision-makers;
• advocates for transformational leadership competencies for health in research, policy and practise;
• facilitates a network of trained health professionals to support and advance the European Programme of Work through strengthened health systems in the Region; and
• assists in addressing the issue of under-representation of some of the Region’s Member States in international governmental organizations over time.
