Kathmandu, Bagmati province - The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), in collaboration with UNFPA and WHO Country Office for Nepal, organized a two-day workshop on 4-5 September to adapt the One-Stop Crisis Management Centre (OCMC) assessment protocol. The OCMC model is an interprofessional response to gender-based violence that aims to provide survivor-centered health services alongside a combination of social, legal, police and shelter services from a single location. Nepal is the second country to initiate the process of adapting the assessment. Over 40 participants, including MoHP officials; OCMC consultants; and health workers, service providers and programme managers from gender-focused organizations, were oriented on OCMCs and engaged in contextualizing WHO’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research (SRH) assessment protocol for Nepal by refining its objectives, sampling approaches and data collection tools. The workshop also allowed stakeholders to contribute to the assessment’s design and implementation. The initiative is jointly supported by the UNFPA and WHO.
