6-9 August | Nepalgunj, Lumbini Province - The National Health Training Center, in coordination with the Health Emergency Operation Center, Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), and WHO Country Office for Nepal, organized the Hospital Preparedness for Emergencies (HOPE) - a comprehensive training on disaster preparedness and response for effective management of disaster and public health emergencies. 28 health-care workers from hub and satellite hospital networks of 13 districts of Lumbini province, including health-care workers of academia and security authorities (Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, Nepal) were trained in Nepalgunj, Lumbini province. The training enhanced the technical capacities in health emergency management within the province, aligning with the International Health Regulations (2005), Joint External Evaluation (JEE) recommendations, and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. The training was supported by the European Commission.
