Kathmandu, Bagmati Province – WHO, Country Office for Nepal, handed over lifesaving equipment, including oxygen supply, cervical collars, and intubation, nebulizer, and catherization sets, to the Ministry of Health and Population, upon its request to upgrade ambulances according to the National Ambulance Guideline 2022. The donated equipment will be installed in the ambulances of eight COVID-19 designated hospitals. These ambulances will then be upgraded to the ‘B’ category. Training on using the equipment was also provided to healthcare workers and ambulance drivers. The activity, funded by EU Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (ECHO), will support in providing appropriate care to patients during transfer to health facilities, strengthening prehospital care and reducing avoidable deaths.
