Dhulikhel, Bagmati Province – On World Hypertension Day Kavrepalanchowk District has launched the Hypertension Care Cascade Initiative. Supported by the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, Ministry of Health and Population, NORAD, and WHO, Country Office for Nepal, the program aims to strengthen the detection and management of hypertension at the primary health care level and improve people-centered care. With commitment from all levels of the government, this first-of-its-kind pilot aims to intensify screening, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, guided by evidence-based protocols within primary healthcare settings. The MoHP plans to expand the model to other districts and provide 1.5 million people in Nepal with hypertension and diabetes protocol-based treatment services by 2025.
