20-24 March | Kathmandu, Bagmati Province - The National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL), Ministry of Health and Population, with support from WHO Regional Office for South-East Asia and WHO, Country Office for Nepal, conducted a hands-on training of trainers on laboratory biosafety and risk assessment, based on the 4th edition of the WHO Laboratory Biosafety Manual. Experts from the Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU) trained six national laboratory personnel from NPHL. These trained personnel further provided a one-day training to additional 15 laboratory personnel under the supervision of the international experts from MORU. This training will certify the six national experts and enable NPHL to provide biosafety and risk assessment training at the subnational level.
