The fourth meeting of the Strategic and Technical Advisory Group (STAG) on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) took place on 12–13 April 2011 at World Health Organization (WHO) Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
3 Working Groups preceded the STAG meeting:
22−23 February: Second Meeting of the Global Working Group on Monitoring of NTD Drug Efficacy (WG MDE)
28−29 March: Meeting of the Global Working group on Monitoring and Evaluation of Preventive Chemotherapy Interventions (WG M&E)
7 April: Meeting of the Working Group on Access to Assured-Quality Essential Medicines for Neglected Tropical Diseases (WGA)
Tuesday 12 & Wednesday 13 April: STAG meeting
The STAG is the principal advisory group to WHO for the control of NTDs
and reports directly to the Director-General of WHO. It has the mandate
of advising WHO on overall global policies and strategies, ranging from
monitoring implementation to delivery and linkages with other health
interventions. Its remit is to facilitate and monitor the coverage of
interventions for the control of NTDs and to provide WHO with high
quality, well considered advice and recommendations on matters described
in its terms of reference.
