Preventing violence against children: INSPIRE webinar series - Implementation and enforcement of laws

19 January 2021

Webinar #2

Implementation and enforcement of laws

To assist governments, practitioners and implementers, civil society and faith-based organizations in their efforts to reduce violence against children, the INSPIRE core agencies and INSPIRE Working Group initiated a series of eight training webinars (December 2020 - April 2021). The aims are to:

  • Introduce INSPIRE to those who need to know and act on it,
  • Remind those who already work with INSPIRE about the need to scale it up, and
  • Give all INSPIRE stakeholders an opportunity to get detailed insights into each of the seven strategies and the cross-cutting elements.

This second webinar in the series presents the first INSPIRE strategy “implementation and enforcement of laws” in more depth. The presentations cover laws that prohibit violent behaviour and those directed at reducing risk factors (alcohol misuse and firearms) and provide insights regarding critical issues to consider when enacting and enforcing legislation aimed at reducing violence against children.
