Preventing violence against children: INSPIRE webinar series - Parent and caregiver support

2 March 2021

Webinar #5

Parent and caregiver support

To assist governments, practitioners and implementers, civil society and faith-based organizations in their efforts to reduce violence against children, the INSPIRE core agencies and INSPIRE Working Group initiated a series of eight training webinars (December 2020 - April 2021). The aims are to:

  • Introduce INSPIRE to those who need to know and act on it,
  • Remind those who already work with INSPIRE about the need to scale it up, and
  • Give all INSPIRE stakeholders an opportunity to get detailed insights into each of the seven strategies and the cross-cutting elements.

This fifth webinar in the series presents the fourth INSPIRE strategy “parent and caregiver support” in more depth. Approaches to reducing harsh parenting practices and creating positive parent-child relationships are discussed in the context of COVID-19, in relation to economic strengthening, and within conflict and displacement contexts.
