WHO COVID-19 Case Management Webinar Series: Optimising Care for Patients with Severe COVID-19 Disease

On the 31 August 2022, the World Health Organisation  held the 2nd webinar in the series of COVID-19 Case Management Webinar Series: Optimising Care for Patients with Severe COVID-19 Disease. 

Optimized and efficient clinical management of patients with severe COVID-19, as well as those patients that present with non-severe disease but who are at high risk of deterioration remains a challenge especially in resource limited settings.  

This webinar focused on key elements to consider in the clinical management of these patients in acute care settings, including current clinical guidelines and best evidence-based practice identified throughout the course of the pandemic.  

This webinar brought together case management experts and clinicians from around the world to discuss clinical management of patients with severe COVID-19 including patient assessment, triage, use of risk scoring, oxygen and therapeutics, management of comorbidities, prevention of complications and triggers for introduction of advanced respiratory supports.
