The World Health Organization (WHO) is organizing a global webinar to launch the newly released policy brief on tuberculosis (TB) among populations at high risk and people in vulnerable situations - to advance efforts to reach all people at risk of TB.
The webinar will highlight the disproportionate burden of TB among people who are socially and economically disadvantaged, marginalised or otherwise at high risk of developing TB. It will put a spotlight on the importance of ensuring universal access to TB services for these populations, share insights on the need to address stigma and discrimination which are barriers to accessing TB care, and highlight evidence-based interventions to improve access to people-centred TB services.
The webinar will provide an overview of the new WHO policy brief and will showcase experiences and examples of innovative approaches to reach all people at risk of TB, including for the most vulnerable.
Speakers will include WHO leadership, representatives from ministries of health, communities, civil society and regional organizations, as well as visionary thought leaders.
The event is open to all stakeholders working to end TB and to ensure Universal Health Coverage for all people at risk of TB. This includes government agencies, ministries of health and other relevant government departments, civil society organizations, affected communities, researchers, technical partner organizations, staff from WHO and staff from funding agencies.
