The National Council of Health Departments (CONASS) and PAHO/WHO are launching an initiative from 19 Brazilian State Health Departments to offer a series of virtual courses, developed by WHO and translated into Portuguese by PAHO/WHO, on the prevention and control of COVID-19 and other diseases, for managers and health workers from different areas.
The courses that are being offered, which are described in detail in the article on Portuguese are: Clinical care for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS); SARS Treatment Unit project; Prevention and control of infections caused by the new coronavirus; and Diseases caused by emerging respiratory viruses, including COVID-19. The initiative, developed by CONASS in partnership with PAHO/WHO, aims at strengthening the Schools of Public Health in Brazil, whose mission is to enhance the technical skills of professionals working in the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS).
