PAHO/WHO delivered to the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare PPE worth 303,549.60 quezales for the use of staff in 29 different health areas in the country. The PPE includes 25,600 items such as disposable gowns, safety glasses, masks, gloves, and biohazard waste bags. The PAHO/WHO representative highlighted that in addition to saving lives and breaking the chain of virus transmission, one of the fundamental axes of the Organization's response is the protection of health personnel. This donation is the seventh donation of protection supplies for health personnel that PAHO/WHO has made to Guatemala since the beginning of the pandemic.
