The World Health Organization together with the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) as well as all the health professional heroes – the doctors and nurses in Nigeria - risked their life to save Salihu Umar, 35 years old, who tested positive to COVID-19.
Salihu Umar was back from a 6-day trip to London in March 2020. Although asymptomatic, he tested positive and underwent treatment. After recovering and returning to his family in the Nigerian capital Abuja, this father of three stresses the importance of WHO’s recommendation about test, test, test. In his case, getting tested was particularly crucial, especially after having travelled from an area affected by the virus.
