Thanks to the Financial Support of the World Bank (WB) through its Pandemic Emergency Financing Facility and the technical support of WHO, Togo’s Ministry of Health, Public Hygiene and Access to Universal Care (MSHPAUS) has launched a training workshop for paramedics to fight COVID-19.

The project aims to strengthen the capacity of paramedics in health facilities in the response to COVID-19 through distance training to increase efficiency. The initiative also aims to provide supervisors with skills, strategies, methods and materials to use in the pillars of the fight against COVID-19 and on Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (SIMR).  Finally, the initiative aims to strengthen infection prevention and control in health facilities, an a key factor in the safety of staff, patients and communities.

WHO thanks all donors and partners who have contributed to fund the Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan to combat COVID-19. A special appreciation goes to Member States and other contributors who provided flexible funds, making it possible for WHO to deliver a coherent, strategic and broad response
