Today WHO releases a new quiz challenge on noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), as an innovative way to raise global awareness of the issues.
NCDs, including cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory diseases, account for nearly three quarters of global deaths every year. Recognizing the urgent need to raise public awareness of the conditions and their modifiable risk factors, WHO has developed an interactive course featuring a global quiz challenge on what NCDs are, why they matter, and how they can be prevented.
Hosted on Kahoot!, a global learning platform, the course seeks to increase awareness about the true scale of the threat posed by NCDs and their risk factors, using interactive questions and engaging content. The new quiz challenge draws on insights from an international poll on public perceptions of NCDs, conducted by the global polling company Gallup in partnership with WHO and Bloomberg Philanthropies. It is a part of a broader educational campaign that will continue to promote new ways of reaching different audiences with health content on NCDs and other global health issues.
Join the movement towards a healthier world in 2024. Take the NCD quiz, share your new knowledge, and help everyone enjoy longer, healthier lives.
