The CIP Network Global Steering Group (GSG) convened the first Work Plan Development meeting on the 23 March 2023.  The objectives of the meeting were to discuss the overall strategic direction of the CIP Network, determine the CIP Network GSG Workplan for 2023, discuss how the impact of the CIP Network may be determined and determine the CIP Network coordination mechanism.  The meeting was attended by 35 participants, including representation by 18 of the 20 CIP GSG members and 4 of the 6 WHO Regional Offices.

GSG members noted that the overall performance of the CIP Network should be measured and that coordination efforts made in the context of the CIP Network should have a sustainable impact. Key outcomes of the meeting included support for the development of the CIP Network GSG Strategic Plan to identify the key performance indicators that may be used to determine the impact of the CIP Network and the development of two guidance documents that will define the CIP Network coordination mechanism and the steps for CIP implementation.

Recommendations were agreed for the next steps of coordination activities in the context of the CIP Network and the implementation of the GSG Work Plan for 2023.
