The Seventieth World Health Assembly approved the WHO Chemicals Road map to enhance health sector engagement in the strategic approach to international chemicals management towards the 2020 goal and beyond. One of the actions in the Road Map mandates the Secretariat to establish a global chemicals and health network, with links to existing subregional, regional and international networks, to facilitate health sector implementation of the road map. The WHO Chemicals Risk Assessment Network and the WHO Poisons Centre Network are two examples of active networks also assisting to implement the Road Map.
The Newsletter of the Global Chemicals and Health Network is meant to enhance the outreach and engagement with these networks, to implement the Road Map and to strengthen the engagement in the sound management of chemicals.
