WHO Expert Committee on Biological Standardization
Overview
The WHO Expert Committee on Biological Standardization met in Geneva from 1 to 9 December 1987. The meeting was opened on behalf of the Director-General by Dr M. Abdelmoumkne, Deputy Director-General.
A record of new or revised requirements for specific substances and an alert to ongoing or planned research likely to affect requirements in the near future. The main part of the book consists of a series of 14 annexes. The first provides an extensive report of a WHO consultation on the standardization of interferons. Additional information on interferons appears in an annex specifying requirements for human interferons made by recombinant DNA techniques. Other annexes present new or modified requirements for the manufacturing, testing, and quality control of live measles vaccine, inactivated Japanese encephalitis vaccine, hepatitis B vaccine prepared from plasma, oral poliomyelitis vaccine, yellow fever vaccine, and dried BCG vaccine
