Landscape analysis of the opportunities and challenges for neurotechnology in global health

Overview

This report provides a detailed examination of the current landscape of neurotechnology, specifically exploring both its potential benefits and challenges from a global health perspective. The landscape analysis focuses on four emerging subcategories of neurotechnology, namely: neuroimaging, the brain computer interface (BCI), neuromodulation, and neurological devices. The report demonstrates that neurotechnology has witnessed a rapid growth in terms of both its technical development and its application across various neurological conditions. However, it also notes that despite their potential, the adoption of these emerging technologies in human health settings remains limited and challenging.
