Standards and benchmarks for tuberculosis surveillance and vital registration systems

Overview

This document was developed as part of the work of the WHO Global Task Force on TB Impact Measurement.

One of the Task Force’s three major strategic areas of work is strengthening TB surveillance; the development of the Checklist and accompanying user guide were top priorities of the Task Force from 2011 to 2013, and it is hoped that they will provide a foundation for strengthening measurement of the level of and trends in TB disease burden using routine surveillance data from notification and vital registration systems in many countries.
