Overview

The Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) on immunization advises the Director-General of WHO on the full range of immunization issues. SAGE met during 6–8 April 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland, and its conclusions and recommendations concerning other topics on the agenda were previously published.

SAGE’s recommendations on the use of licensed human H5N1 influenza vaccines in the interpandemic (phase 3) period are based on a thorough review of the evidence by a SAGE working group.
