Overview
UN Member States have agreed to try to achieve universal health coverage (UHC) by 2030, as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). UHC includes financial risk protection, access to quality essential health-care services, and access to safe, effective, quality and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all. Other targets of SDG 3 for “Good health and well-being” also depend on providing access to medicines and vaccines. This policy checklist is the first in a series to summarize key issues and important recommendations for expanding access to essential medicines and vaccines.WHO Team
