Decision of the Independent Allocation of Vaccines Group on the allocation of COVAX Facility secured vaccines: 03 December 2021

Overview

COVAX Allocation Round 13 aims to allocate Q1-2022 supply that has been confirmed after a joint review by the Procurement Coordinator (UNICEF SD) and the Gavi Deals Team as available for delivery during that trimester. Q1-2022 is seen as a transition towards Phase 2 of the COVAX allocation mechanism, during which a new approach and methodology will be applied. In the meantime, the approach used for this round is summarized in slide 7. There are several elements to be considered ahead of reviewing the outcomes of this present round, which are presented in the context section of this vaccine allocation decision proposal.
