HeRAMS Annual Report 2019

Overview

During 2019, the Health Resources and Services Availability Monitoring System (HeRAMS) Initiative has contributed substantially to increasing the availability of core information on essential health resources and services to decision makers at country, regional and global levels.

By the end of the year, HeRAMS covered 16 countries and more than 50’000 health facilities thanks to the collaboration of dozens of health sector actors and over 2’500 data contributors, informing decision-makers on a wide variety of contexts including preparedness, response, recovery and development.

During that period the HeRAMS platform (www.herams.org) has undergone continuous improvements. An external evaluation was also conducted in 6 countries concluding that the HeRAMS Initiative’s “overall performance to date has been strong” and that its “usefulness in informing strategic and programmatic decision-making is high”.

This report describes some of the activities and achievements of 2019 and identifies potential areas of development and improvement for the future.
