HeRAMS northeast Syria baseline report 2024: Operational status of the health system

A comprehensive mapping of the operational status of health facilities

Overview

The Health Resources and Services Availability Monitoring System (HeRAMS) aims to provide decision-makers and health stakeholders at large with vital and up-to-date information on the availability of essential health resources and services, help them identify gaps, and determine priorities for intervention.

HeRAMS has been operational in the Syrian Arab Republic since May 2024, enabling the monitoring of 114 health service delivery units (HSDUs) across Aleppo, Al-Hasakeh, Ar-Raqqa, and Deir-ez-Zor governorates. This report series was produced based on data reported as of 30 November 2024. As this HeRAMS deployment remains ongoing, including data verification and validation, the analysis presented here is not final and was produced solely for the purpose of informing operations.

This is the first report of the HeRAMS northeast Syria baseline report 2024 series, focusing on the operational status of HSDUs, including the level and type of support provided by partners and the availability of basic amenities. For more in-depth information on the availability of essential health services and barriers impeding service delivery, specialized reports are available covering:
