Overview
The investment case deep dive takes a closer look at WHO’s work in polio elimination. Investing in sustaining polio essential functions presents a significant opportunity to advance global efforts to protect and provide health and well-being for all. The return on this investment is substantial. Long-term, predictable funding to WHO is essential to ensure that polio assets and infrastructure are eventually fully integrated into national health systems, while also enabling WHO to continue providing critical technical and operational support to the most fragile and conflict affected countries until a full transition to national governments is feasible.
