Overview

The Japanese encephalitis (JE) laboratory network in SEA Region was formed in 2006, based on the successful models of the WHO polio and measles/rubella laboratory network structure.

As of 2019, the JE Lab network is comprised of 13 national laboratories in 9 countries and 1 Regional Reference Laboratory (RRL) in Bangalore, India. Of these, 10 laboratories are accredited, 2 are provisionally accredited and 2 are pending review.
