Regional workshop on strengthening routine facility data analysis and use
23—26 April 2024, Paro, Bhutan

Overview
Countries in the South-East Asia (SEA) Region exhibits varying levels of maturity in their routine health information systems (RHIS). While data collection occurs across all service delivery levels, gaps in governance, data quality assurance, and implementation capacity limit the effectiveness of these systems. As a result, facility data are often unavailable, poorly analyzed, or of insufficient quality for informed decision-making. Many program-specific data management systems also lack integration and coordination with broader facility-based systems.
The four-day regional workshop on strengthening routine facility data analysis and use united four programmes: dengue, MNCAH, immunization, and NCD for the first time, aiming to foster cross-program collaboration. Participants gained insights into the RHIS toolkit, core facility indicators, data quality practices, and strategies for enhancing data use in decision-making at facility, district, and national levels.
