Today, Thailand’s Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, in the presence of multiple ministers, senior government officials and the WHO Representative launched the national wide COVID-19 vaccination rollout at Bangsue Central Vaccination Center. This is the biggest vaccination center in Thailand, and will provide approx. 10,000 jabs per day – a major contribution to achieving Thailand’s goal of providing 96 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine in the next 200 days.
As of today, there are 993 vaccination centers in Thailand, at least 25 centers in Bangkok, 25 centers operated by social security offices, 11 centers operated by universities, and 10 central vaccination centers such as Bang Sue Central Station, Rajanukul Institute, Srithanya Hospital, Bang Rak Medical Center, etc. All vaccination centers in provinces are providing standardized vaccination services.
H.E. Mr Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, mentioned that “Everyone living in Thailand who wants to be vaccinated will be vaccinated - free of charge”
Dr Daniel A. Kertesz added that “Today, Thailand took a big step in its fight against COVID-19. Vaccines against COVID-19 work – they have saved thousands of lives around the world and they will do the same in Thailand. All adults in Thailand should get vaccinated as soon as they can.”
