Kathmandu, Bagmati Province - Nepal is among the first six countries to receive essential childhood cancer medications through the Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines (GPACCM), a joint initiative of WHO and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, focused on increasing access to childhood cancer medicines around the world. The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), in collaboration with WHO, Country Office for Nepal, held a workshop which emphasized the implementation of GPACCM in Nepal and co-develop modalities for managing logistics. Discussions also included improvement in childhood cancer management including unified treatment regimens, chemotherapeutic safety, and use of logistic management information. WHO will continue to support MoHP to finalize the implementation plan and procure the medicines via St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
