HeRAMS Burkina Faso status update report August 2023: Operational status of the health system

A comprehensive mapping of availability of essential services and barriers to their provision

Overview

The Health Resources and Services Availability Monitoring System (HeRAMS) aims to provide decision-makers and health stakeholders at large with vital and up-to-date information on the availability of essential health resources and services, help them identify gaps, and determine priorities for intervention.

HeRAMS has been operational in Burkina Faso since 2019, facilitating the monitoring of 2968 health service delivery units (HSDUs) across the country. This report is based on data reported as of January 2023. While this HeRAMS deployment remains ongoing and data verification and validation continue, the analysis presented here is not final and has been produced solely to inform operations.

This is the first report of the HeRAMS Burkina Faso status update report August 2023 series, focusing on the operational status of health facilities, including the level and type of support provided by partners and availability of basic amenities.
