Health situation in Singapore

Singapore’s healthcare system provides access to quality healthcare through high government investments in infrastructure, subsidies, and a triple layer of financing that has resulted in high coverage of essential health services combined with relatively low out-of-pocket spending.

Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) remain the leading cause of death accounting for 76% of total deaths. 30.5% of all NCD related deaths were from cancer, 15.5% from ischemic heart disease, and 8.9% from cerebrovascular diseases.
