Spectrum-STI

Spectrum-STI is part of the Spectrum system of modelling tools and was developed to estimate national trends over time in adults in the prevalence and incidence of selected sexually transmitted infections. The 3 STIs currently included in the STI module are those caused by Treponema pallidum, subspecies pallidum (syphilis), Chlamydia trachomatis (chlamydia) and Neisseria gonorrhoeae (gonorrhea).

Financial support for the development of Spectrum-STI was provided by WHO. More information on Spectrum-STI can be found at: Spectrum STI Module - Overview Manual – Model Support (zendesk.com)

Spectrum-STI has been used to generate global estimates of syphilis in adults in 2020 and maternal syphilis prevalence estimates for 2012 and 2016 (references).  The model has been used by a number of countries to generate national estimates.
