Cervical cancer surveillance
Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women. But when detected early and managed effectively, it is one of the most successfully treatable forms of cancer. In August 2020, the World Health Assembly adopted the global strategy to accelerate the elimination of cervical cancer as a public health problem. Robust surveillance and monitoring systems are fundamental to assess and evaluate the progress in countries. To generate information necessary to plan, implement, monitor, evaluate, and scale cervical cancer prevention and control programmes, some operational resources and tools are available here for countries to use.
